Avrio Corporation Success Story

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans was founded in 1902 and is headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin. Thrivent is a 1.8 million member fraternal benefit society which combines insurance protection and other financial offerings for their member using a network of over 10,000 branch offices. Thrivent is the largest fraternal benefits society in the United States and is now ranked within the top 4% of all life insurers.

The Problem

Thrivent already had an existing workflow application built on the FileNet® 16-bit WorkForce Desktop platform but their business needs had long outstripped the functionality of this outdated system. AAL needed a modern workflow system which fully-leveraged their existing FileNet® infrastructure. However, they also wanted to be able to implement this system in any department. Thrivent brought in Avrio Corporation to design and develop a workflow system flexible enough to handle the unique business processes and workflows of every area within the organization.

The Solution

Avrio Corporation developed the eFlo Workflow Solution to solve this unique document challenge. The eFlo system manages the complete workflow process by organizing individual documents into logical cases and managing the process from beginning to end. eFlo ensures that incoming documents are added to related cases or create new cases. eFlo is built around a fully-customizable business rules engine. This allowed Thrivent to define each department's business processes uniquely while still proving full communication and interaction between individual departments within their enterprise.

eFlo enforces the accurate execution of critical business processes with fully-automated actions, which are user-definable on a departmental basis. These actions can trigger a variety of workflow events, such as additional routing, pending, and closing, and provides complete case status management and reporting. Manual actions also exist for those exception cases that can not be handled by the pore-defined automated actions. eFlo provides tight integration with all FileNet® back end infrastructures through the Panagon interface, and supports any combination of Image Services and Content Services libraries.

Thrivent realized immediate benefits from eFlo as typical customer response times dropped by nearly one-half. After a successful eFlo implementation in the Billing and Collections department, Thrivent quickly implemented the eFlo Workflow Solution in the Health Claims, Issue Change, and Remittance Processing departments.
