Virtual ReScan

Document Scan Server

What it does:

Ascent Collection Server (ACS) provides the software hooks developers and system integrators need to connect third-party client applications, MFPs and digital copiers to Ascent Capture. Or, with Capio as the client, combine ACS and Ascent Capture for a turnkey capture solution.

Organizations need ACS if they:

  • Scan a limited number of documents each day on an ad hoc or transactional basis.
  • Want to save money and cause minimal disruption to current business practices by utilizing client software and/or MFPs/digital copiers already in place to meet scanning requirements.
  • Plan to use Mac, Linux or other non-Windows based clients to feed data to Ascent Capture.

With ACS you can:

  • Establish two-way communication with any MFP, digital copier or 3rd party application. They can receive batch class information (e.g., index fields) from ACS, and send scanned paper images, eDocuments and index data to ACS for further processing with Ascent Capture.
  • Accept documents from anywhere through an Internet or a network connection.
  • Work with any type of document: scanned paper, eDocuments, multimedia files, XML feeds, email, fax, etc.
  • Balance the workload if multiple Web servers are needed to submit batches to Ascent Capture.

Key features of ACIS include:

  • SDK provides all tools needed to link client application to ACS.
  • Fully documented and easy to use web services API. Provides assured interoperability between Ascent Capture and client, regardless of client’s platform.
  • Two sample applications provided with source code (one Java, one C#).
  • Use Ascent Capture user profiles to authenticate client users.
  • Use administration utility to review license status, specify session timeout periods and polling intervals, and run batch cleanup utility.
